The Consumer Insight (CI) team is a key part of CIMA (Consumer Insight, Measurement, and Analytics), an organization within Walt Disney Parks & Resorts (WDP&R) Global Marketing & Sales responsible for informing strategy development and influencing decision-making company wide. The purpose of this role is to drive business value and consumer centric decision-making by deeply understanding both the consumer and the complexities of our business so that actionable insights can be leveraged to identify opportunities and execute strategies that achieve desired business goals. We can only achieve this when we anticipate and address consumer needs and behaviors in ways that optimize the guest experience and drive improved business performance.
We are seeking a Consumer Foresight Sr. Analyst to support the team focused on providing breakthrough consumer insights and thought leadership to the enterprise on the consumer of today and tomorrow. In this role, you'll continuously track shifts in consumer behavior, synthesize market signals, and behavioral trends to help shape future-ready strategies across Disney Experiences. This role will report to the Senior Manager-Consumer Foresight.
Responsibilities
- The Consumer Foresight Sr. Analyst will be responsible for helping develop the strategic consumer foresight capability for WDP&R and then executing internal and external research to:
- Identify disruptive trends to anticipate significant changes before they impact key business drivers and develop strategies that shape those changes to optimize long-term results and returns for the organization.
- Excel in storytelling with a concentration on emerging trends and indicators of change to develop compelling scenarios for potential futures.
- Move beyond traditional forecasters' quantitative methods by applying a balance of proven qualitative and quantitative tools form the fields of business, marketing, consumer science, and retailing.
- Use a wide range of theoretical and practical models to examine the sources, patterns and causes of change and stability to map probable, plausible, and preferable futures.
- Leverage collaboration and innovation to gain multiple, genuinely new perspectives on the organization’s most challenging problems and most compelling opportunities.
- Focus on projecting and planning for discontinuous and transformational change by analyzing rapid alterations in external environments and by using systems thinking to increase the chances of achieving preferred futures.
- Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years related experience.
- Able to produce story-driven, highly synthesized, succinct, and actionable data-driven deliverables for executives and other key audiences.
- Proven success integrating quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable, provocative, persuasive recommendations.
- Able to partner effectively and viewed as an exceptional collaborator.
- Proven strategic thinking abilities; able to craft clear, compelling recommendations.
- Experience managing multi-phase projects and working with a wide variety of data and information sources, including qualitative research, survey data, demographic and consumer trends and online panels.
- A good knowledge of consumers and macrotrends (e.g., technological, economic, regulatory, social drivers)
- Known for strong critical thinking and analytic skills, attention to detail, innate sense of curiosity, and passion for this type of work.
- Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in market research, marketing, statistics, sociology, psychology, business, economics, or related field
- Preferred Education
- MBA or Master’s degree in foresight or other relevant field (multi-disciplinary background a plus)
